Hobgoblins

The feature will be a film many believe is the Worst Film Ever Made, Hobgoblins from 1988, an ultra-cheap growling hand puppet rip-off of Critters which was a rip-off of Gremlins.

When it was shown on Mystery Science Theater, a crisis hot line was set up for people traumatized by the film. It is rumored that the director was high on crack during filming and his brains were replaced by rat droppings.

The plot, as such, involves aliens (the title creatures) who can make a person's wildest fantasies come true before killing them. It is less a film than a series of images designed to drive the audience to ritual suicide. You will be quite pleased with yourself for seeing this little known gem!

The evening will begin with Halloweenie  type shorts presented by demented film archivist Steven Mayerson.

Also stay tuned for the 12th episode of the serial The Lost Planet from 1953! On the par with an Ed Wood movie, it’s considered the worst serial ever made with unintentionally hilarious dialogue like "How are we going to find it, it's the Lost Planet." It was the last sci-fi serial ever made…for good reason.
